今天我们来学个由paper组成的习惯用语:walking papers。收到Walking papers可不是什么好事情,首先它可以指解雇通知单,出典可能是收到了walking papers你就只得开路了。我们来看个例子:

这里的walking papers是解雇通知单,因为接到walking papers就意味着你得走路,离开工作岗位了。
Walking papers不仅可以指解雇通知,也可以指司法机构通知你配偶已与你离婚的公文。我们看个例子:

这里的walking papers是正式的离婚通知书。
