M:Shall we have some soup first?
W:No,thank you.I don’t like soup.I’d rather have some fruit juice to start with.
M:Ok, and what about the main course?Which would you rather have
fish or meat?
W:Meat, I think.
M:Don’t you like fish then?
W:I do, but I want meat.
M:Shall we have some white wine then?
W:Yes, but I prefer red wine with meat.
M:What would you like for dessert?
w:I just want to have a coffe,I think.
M:Fine,and after dinner, shall we go to a disco?
W:No,thanks.I’d like to go straight home.I’m very tired.

W:I have to go up to London for a couple of days next week.Would
you like to come?
M:That would be nice.How are you getting there?
W:Well,I prefer to go on the train,but I suppose you want me to
take the car.
M:Oh, I much prefer to go by car,then we don’t need to get to
the station with our luggage and...
W:And I’ve got to drive.You know I’m not fond of that.I found it much more relaxing to sit in the train.
M:Which is more expensive?
W:But very much quicker.But I know we’ll never agree on this
subject.You prefer the car.I prefer the train.
M:Have you ever thought of going by express bus?

M:There are so many record players here.That is hard to choose.
W:Look at this one.It has a radio and cassette player and built in speakers.
M:I’d rather get one with separated speakers.They give a clear sound
W:Yes, but we shouldn’t get any thing too big.Remember it has to
fit in with our living room furniture.
M:That’s right.Now this one looks alright? It’s a hetachee or do you prefer this one?It’s sony.
W:Let’s have the salesmen for a demonstration

Well,if you accept that, you know ,there have to be shcools.It seems to work fairly efficiently.Of course, one of our great problems in American is that we have very large calsses and I have preference for ten.Hum, it will be very nice we could reduce that by at least half instead of there being 40 children in class, so that each child gets more individual attention
